I don't think HP is as strict now as they used to be about attributing photos.

I want to look into for free stock and also purchased photos. When I first started here on HP, I tried out Flickr, but stopped for several reasons.

Mary Hyatt from Florida on June 23, 2014: In the past I think Hubbers were more vigilant about flagging "illegal" photos which helped the moderators, but I think there are fewer members doing that now. Mary, HubPages has always taken the same attitude - it's just that the monitoring of photo attribution is largely manual, and they don't have the staff to do it. Kate Swanson (author) from Sydney on June 23, 2014: Providing a backlink to the creator is absolutely essential, so I'm glad you mentioned that. I find a lot of my photos on Flickr and always check to make sure they have the appropriate license before I use them. Tori Canonge from North Carolina on July 06, 2014:

WHO OWNS TH EPHOTOS ON FLLICKR HOW TO
I was wondering how to use other peoples photographs on my hubs. Thank you for this great advise! I've been scratching my head coming up with pictures I draw myself. Sheila Craan from Florida on September 13, 2014: Super glad that you made the direct link available. Thank you! I couldn't find the advanced button so I had to use your direct link. Most are usable with attribution, but it's up to you to provide the credit required. Some are, but most are not - they're subject to licenses like any other site. Many people assume that images on Wikipedia and Wikimedia are public domain. It's always neater to use the photographer's name to create a proper hyperlink instead of simply pasting the URL. Ideally, you should link that to the Photo Credit capsule (see below for instructions) - but it's not essential.
